This is one of the most common misinformation. Many believe that after marriage, their spouse will automatically receive the Hungarian residence permit. However, this is not the case! If the spouse is unable to prove that he or she can provide the conditions for staying in Hungary, his / her application will certainly be denied. What are the conditions that must be met in any case:

You must have the financial background to stay in Hungary!

The most common reason for refusal is that the applicant "has no material cover for staying in Hungary". You need to save at least 3-4 million forints or at least 200,000 forints to stay in Hungary. They won't accept "looking for work in Hungary ....". If you want to pay for your stay in Hungary, you must apply for a "Work Permit for Work". However, it is a condition of having a job offer from a Hungarian employer! A Hungarian citizen's declaration of costs can be an appropriate defense, but the authority will examine the financial background of the payer.

It is a common mistake for the applicant to come to Hungary with a tourist visa and enter into marriage here and then apply for a residence permit in Hungary. However, in Hungary, only nationals of countries listed in the law may apply for a residence permit. Most third-country nationals are not! Nor does the marriage give an exemption. However, in Hungary, only the citizens of the countiers listed in the legislation can apply for a residence permit.

The Hungarian authorities cannot grant permission for the applicant to reside in another country. If you want to live and work in Germany or Great Britain, you must apply for it there.
